The Final Points Table for Club Run Attendance 2009
Godric Club Runs Information Sunday Club runs continue to be a staple part of our clubs activities. Every Sunday, (all baring extreme weather) we meet under the Butter Cross in Bungay Market Place. Club Run Start Times are as follows.... December, January & Fedruary - 9.30am March through to the end of November - 9.00am The procedure generally follows that we decide where to go at the time - this depends on the weather, wind direction, the strength of riders present, and knowing which cafes will be open. We generally average around 15mph - but this also depends on weather / wind direction and rider strength. No special bike or gear is necessary, cycle helmets are optional. If you have any mechanical issues or a puncture - the group will wait while the issue is sorted. Above all, these are social rides, not training rides. We always pace to the slowest rider. We usually ride for an hour and a half, taking the long way round to our destination, stop for tea, a large slice of cake, and a chat and then following a refill of the pot we head back on a more direct route which will be with the wind in plenty of time to get home for Sunday Lunch. We generally cover around 40-45 miles - Buttercross to Cafe, then back to the Buttercross (or home if nearer). Destinations have included Framlingham, Diss, Long Stratton, Eye, Minsmere, Dunwich, Thornham, Langmere, Southwold, Peasenhall, Wortham, Gorleston and Loddon - although not all on the same day! For further information please contact Steve Smith (our Club Run Captain) on (01508) 482275
Tuesday This ride is for the more energentic and comitted in the club. Meeting up with like minded others at Notcutts Garden Centre upon the Norwich ring road, just north of the Ipswich Road junction. We meet at 9.45am, ready for a 10.00am departure. Again destinations are decided at the time again dependant upon weather and strength of riders presant. Recent destinations have included Hemsby, Lowestoft, Beccles, Halesworth, Harleston, Diss, Dereham and Holt although again not all on the same day! Come Spring some more casual shorter rides are scheduled to recommence meeting at the ButterCross.
